Schools extend the benefits of an MBA to technology professionals
The economic downturn has led many individuals to return to school to learn how to start their own companies. However, many full- and part-time MBA programs are designed for individuals who have a background in business.
Fortunately, some schools are beginning to launch masters degree programs that are designed for degree seekers who have been trained in other fields.
For instance, Aspen University recently announced that it will collaborate with Small and Medium Business (SMB) Nation to create an online MBA program for individuals who wish to enter the technology industry.
The Pocket MBA program is designed for information technology (IT) professionals who wish to start their own companies, but do not have the business knowledge to put their plans into action. The coursework will focus on the ways these entrepreneurs can distinguish their businesses in a highly competitive market.
David E. Lady, president of Aspen University, said the goal of the new program is to “get information out to as many SMB business owners as possible to help them not just survive, but prosper on the other side of this market shift.”
