Mansfield University’s School of Graduate Studies offers quality educational opportunities at a very competitive rate. A small school of just under 500 graduate students, Mansfield offers individualized attention, provides advanced study and content area specialization in a variety of academic disciplines, and serves as a positive change agent through on-campus and online programs. With full- and part-time study programs, we encourage and promote diversity while making a special effort to meet the unique needs of our students.
Degree Programs
Offering on-campus and online programs, Mansfield University is dedicated to providing an environment that promotes academic and personal growth as well as intellectual, ethical, and aesthetic values. Serving both national and international communities, the university’s graduate programs are designed to provide advanced study in the following areas: elementary education, special education, secondary education, music, nursing, school library and information technologies, organizational leadership, reading specialist, and children’s literature.
Financial Assistance
Mansfield University participates in the major federal and state financial aid programs. In addition to these grant and loan opportunities, graduate assistantships are available each year to full- and part-time students; these assistantships include a waiver of tuition and fees, as well as a bi-weekly stipend. Each assistantship provides opportunities for professional, collegial, and academic growth. Graduate assistants work in a variety of professional areas on campus and in the online environment, and they are highly visible and valued throughout campus.
Campus and Location
Founded in 1857, Mansfield University’s 174-acre campus is nestled in the beautiful rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The campus is surrounded by thousands of acres of state park land, seven lakes, and spectacular mountain views, all of which make Mansfield a rewarding place to study!
The university is located in Mansfield, a town that shares our founding date and rich history. With a population of 4,000, Mansfield borough is located in northern central Pennsylvania at the intersection of U.S. 15 and U.S. 6. It is an area noted for its quality of life, safety, and numerous recreational opportunities. Come visit our local Pennsylvania Grand Canyon!
