The College of Education and Human Services is committed to advancing knowledge and educating professionals in a diverse array of fields, including coaching and sports administration, counseling, health education, educational leadership, literacy education, nutrition, organizational development and training, and teaching.
In addition to its more than 50 graduate programs that lead to a master’s degree,
certification, or certificate, the college is actively engaged in doctoral
education. Doctoral programs include the Ed.D.
in Pedagogy with a concentration in philosophy for children, a Ph.D.
in Counselor Education, and an Ed.D. in Teacher Education and Teacher Development.
In recognition of our work in the field of teacher education, Montclair State University was recently named one of the Ten Leading Schools of Education by the George Lucas Educational Foundation.
