Practical Research
Texas Tech has been designated as the first ever Systems Engineering Research Center for the Department of Defense, and our Computer Science department makes significant contributions to NASA programs. Our college is involved in eight Research Centers with studies as diverse as nanotechnologies, water resources, and wind power. There are dozens of supported Graduate Research Specializations for our graduate students.
Worldwide Impact
We host an extremely diverse student body with undergraduate and graduate students from more than 70 countries. Our alumni have gone on to do great things here in the United States and abroad. An example is Chi-Ming Chang, co-founder and president of Ardentec Corporation, a semiconductor testing company headquartered in Taiwan. No matter where you are from, studying at Texas Tech can give you the tools you need to make your dreams a reality.
Service and Support
Our academic advisor and contacts are anxious to help you make the most of your time here at Texas Tech, but we know that a successful academic career isn’t just about graduating or getting a degree. Our faculty consists of 140 professors with the help of 224 graduate assistants. The student–faculty ratio is 24:1; this low ratio allows for a more intimate learning experience for greater understanding.
As a Texas Tech student you’ll also have access to our Engineering Opportunities Center, which has the resources to connect you with hundreds of companies for internship, co-op, and job-placement opportunities. We’re dedicated not only to providing a quality education, but also to making sure you can apply what you’ll learn here and make the most of your talents.
