Legal Education for the 21st Century

At Belmont University College of Law, we plan to teach law the way it needs to be taught—from a 21st-century perspective. Our faculty of experienced teachers, scholars, and practicing attorneys will integrate traditional legal analysis and practical legal skills, with the goal of graduating practice-ready attorneys for today’s global legal market.

Academic Excellence

Belmont University is the second-largest private university in Tennessee and enjoys a reputation for academic excellence. In addition to undergraduate degrees in approximately 70 major areas of study, the university offers master’s degrees in accountancy, business administration, education, English, music, nursing, and sport administration, as well as four doctoral degrees in law, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and physical therapy. Belmont attracts students from all over the United States as well as international students.

Welcome to Nashville

Nashville, Tennessee, is Belmont University’s home. Nashville is a rare place that combines big-city charisma and small-town charm to create an enriching experience for Belmont students. In the 19th century, Nashville earned the nickname “Athens of the South” for its numerous higher education institutions. This nickname holds true today as it is home to 16 colleges and universities in the metropolitan area. Nashville also holds a more recognizable nickname as “Music City” with performance halls, studios, and clubs everywhere you turn.

A vibrant city, Nashville is Tennessee’s state capital and is a major urban, government, and not-for-profit center. It is also home to a variety of business industries, including printing and publishing, health care management, insurance, tourism, banking, and advertising and media. Nashville is music, sports, culture, quiet parks, and big business—and the people here greet you with a smile.
